Sports Grant

Sports Grant 2018-2019

The school will receive £18,120 for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.  The aims for the investment at Emersons Green Primary are;

  • To maintain School Games Mark Gold
  • To increase the breadth and quality of the PE Curriculum in all classes
  • To increase the PE skills of all pupils.
  • To increase the sporting opportunities for pupils during lunch, play and after school.
  • To develop PE leadership opportunities – particularly in terms of the children being sports leaders and achieving their own personal bests.

We will invest in;

The CSET School Partnership £2974

The partnership focusses on;

  • Networking opportunities for the school PE leaders
  • Development of a CPD programme for teachers across 2018-2019 – including in inclusive sports
  • Development of additional sports opportunities and inter school competition
  • MAD Olympiad
  • A chance for children in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 to complete in agility challenges

Sports Coaches £4800

We will invest in hiring qualified sports coaches to work alongside staff for short PE modules e.g. Tennis, Dance, Tag Rugby, Cricket and promoting great causes such as ‘Chance to Shine’.

Our Sports Coaches will also run mentoring sessions with Year 6 pupils and other pupils across the school to encourage them to be active and lead a healthy life.

During the year so far, the children in our school have received coaching from outside agencies in Tag Rugby, Tennis, Cricket, Inclusive Cricket, Cheerleading and Football.

Swimming for all Key Stage 2 Pupils £4732

All children in Key Stage 2 will have access to a terms worth of swimming lessons to ensure they meet the National Curriculum standard by the end of KS2.

The additional money will be used to buy equipment, release staff for CPD opportunities and buy into any sporting opportunities that arise throughout the year.


The impact will be tracked throughout the year against our 2018-2019 Evidencing Plan – which will be published by the 31st July 2019.
