New intake 2021

We are looking forward to welcoming new children and parents to our Emersons Green family in September 2021.  Please find below information about induction arrangements, as well as some of the documents and information shared during the new parents’ meeting and the storytime sessions for children.

Welcome to the Emersons Green family

We are so looking forward to welcoming you and your child/ren to our Emersons Green family, we hope you will spend a happy 7 (or more) years with us. We understand that you may have an array of feelings and emotions linked to your child starting school, whether they are your first, last or somewhere in between, and we are here to support you all through this transition.

This section of our website is dedicated to you, our new starters and it will hopefully provide you with all relevant information needed.  If you can’t find an answer or want to discuss anything with us please do not hesitate to give us a call.

Here at Emersons Green our pupils will develop a love of learning through a curriculum that places inclusivity & diversity at its core.

Our aims are to …

  • Foster an understanding and enjoyment of learning
  • Enable children to develop their personalities, talents and abilities
  • Give children the opportunities to observe, investigate, respond to and record experiences from the world around them
  • Provide skills based, open ended, collaborative opportunities that engage, provoke and facilitate learning.

Here is what some of our current Reception have to say about us:

“I think reception is lovely, I like the drawing and when we play bingo and write letters and the part I like best is getting green cards, it’s my favourite thing to do, and I love school but the class I love most is red class because there are such fun things to do.”

“I like that there is an outside play are and an inside play area, I like to play with the Knex and mobilo because we can make really cool models with it.”

“I like playing with my friends and playing out on the field.”

“writing because it’s like drawing but you get to write letters and independent learning because  you can play outside”.

“I like independent learning because you can find the castle, and painting”.

“I like independent learning because you get to play with the water.”

“I like writing because I love the book that we’re learning about – The Night Pirates”.
