Sports Day
What a lovely day we had! The sunshine was on time and the children really enjoyed the day. Thank you to all our parent helpers, staff, Miss Bignell and Mrs Pope for their organisation, it really was a very successful school event. Well done to Willow (Blue team) who were the cup winners. Ash (Yellow) came 2nd, Oak (Red) came 3rd, and Hazel (Green) came 4th. See some of the pictures here.
Sickness Bug
We have had several children ill this week with a sickness bug. We have had to report this to the Enviromental Health Department and they have asked us to remind you to be vigilant about children washing their hands, especially after using the toilet and before eating. Please remember that children must not return to school for 48 hours after their last bout of sickness.
Skipathon
Reminder! Our ‘Jump Off’ will be held on Monday 7th July at 9.30am. We would greatly appreciate any support you can give your child with their fundraising, e.g. by asking your friends and family to sponsor them. We would also appreciate help from any adults. We hope you will support your child, your school and the British Heart Foundation in this very worthwhile programme.
Pond
Reminder! Pond recovery! Tools and equipment still needed for work on the 9th and 10th July.
School Photographs
Photographs have been sent home this week. Please return your order as quickly as possible. All photograph orders need to be in school by Friday 27th June, so that we can get the orders processed before the end of term.
This year we have also arranged for a ‘whole school’ photograph to be taken. This will take place on Thursday 26th June at 1.30pm. We will send home more details nearer the time, but a sample photograph is displayed in the entrance foyer.
Volunteers for September!
Children go swimming on a Wednesday morning to Longwell Green Swimming Pool. We have been fortunate to have reliable helpers over the years, and our sincere thanks to everyone who has helped. We will need new helpers in September. If you are able to help on a Wednesday morning, please let the school office know. Thank you.
Congratulations
Our children continue to excel in a number of fields. Congratulations to:
The Chess Team for coming 3rd in the Chess League. The team were promoted this year to the Premier League and did really well to come third.
Our lovely dancers at Mangotsfield Festival who were brilliant.
The netball team who are on a winning streak and playing really well at the moment.
